Episode 7 - Cooking with Priscila, An inspirational recipe for meaningful discoveries

Join Angelo and Giusi in this discovery. In this episode of Palermo International, they interview Priscila, a brave Canadian woman who moved to Palermo to start her business and express her love for Sicilian food as a Chef teacher.

If you expect this episode to be mostly about food and cuisine, think again! This might become a (cooking) manual for brave expats looking for inspiration!

Episode 6 - CouchSurfing explained by an Ambassador and the Organiser of the Palermo WinterCamp2023

Giusi and Angelo interview Luca, CouchSurfing Ambassador based in Naples and the main organiser of the Palermo WinterCamp2023, an event that will bring to Palermo more than 100 CouchSurfers, to explore, experience and enjoy the Sicilian Capital together!

Together they talk about CouchSurfing from Luca’s experience (A LOT of experience)!

Join us in our discovery of one of the biggest international communities in the world!

Episode 5 - Tom’s tips and tricks to learn new languages

Angelo and Tom talk about Tom’s extensive experience with languages, like how and why he learned so many. Because they both have experience in teaching, they decide to share their knowledge through helpful tips for better learning.

Since they’re both from Sicily and good at speaking Sicilian, they also talk about how many Sicilian people are bilingual without knowing it.

Episode 4 - Angela’s royal red carpet to become the ultimate “kween” of Palermo

Giusi is back! Together with Angelo, they interview Angela, a bubbly sassy French girl who “lives” in London.

She kinda “lives” in London officially, but we literally cannot get rid of her, she has her farewell party and then comes back after two weeks!

Other than discussing Angela’s experiences, Angelo, Giusi, and Angela discuss travelling alone as a woman, safety and taxi/uber in Palermo. Party/lone time balance in the community and, obviously the famous “Vucciria”: the outdoor, urban, messy party place in the heart of the city.

What in this world could drive this French sassy girl to constantly come back to Palermo?!

Episode 3 - Lawrence’s linguistic adventures around the world

Join us in a special episode of Palermo International where we meet Lawrence, a young man from Italy and England. Lawrence loves to travel and has many exciting stories to share. He has walked long paths like the Camino de Santiago and has visited places in the UK and Australia.
Now, Lawrence is studying how changes in the weather and environment affect our daily lives. He also researches minority languages.
In this episode, we discuss the Italian and Sicilian languages and explore a special dialect called Arbresh. This dialect is a mix of Albanian and is only spoken in two small villages near Palermo, known for their tasty cannoli sweets.
We met Lawrence through Couchsurfing, a topic we talked about in earlier episodes. Together, we chat about his travels, different languages, changes in the weather, and “Ikigai” – a Japanese idea about finding your life’s purpose.
Listen in and enjoy stories of travel, language, and life with Lawrence!
